Drusilla ni Scathach propped her chin on one hand and stared moodily out the window of Aleta's Occult Shoppe, watching the raindrops make narrow streaks along the mist-clouded glass. **Is it ever going to stop raining? she wondered. **Never thought I'd miss the heat back home, but it'd be better than this stuff.**

With a barely audible sigh, she turned to look at the clock on the back wall. Still twenty minutes left until she could leave and get some dinner. She wondered if Aleta would mind if she closed early. **After all, who's going to come in this rain?**

As if to put the lie to her thoughts, the bell mounted over the door gave its mellow little chime, and a young woman entered the shop, pausing briefly on the threshold to deposit her backpack in the cubby by the door.

"Hi; can I help you find something?" Dru asked automatically, offering a cheery smile.

The young woman met Dru's eyes, and an unreadable expression came over her face. Then, as if noticing the silence, she cleared a stray lock of black hair from her face with one hand and swallowed once. "Uhm, yes – do you have anything dealing with the Dianic Tradition?"

Dru nodded. "That would be over by the far wall; come with me and I'll show you." With that, she slipped out from behind the counter and headed over to the shelves she'd just mentioned, looking back over her shoulder once to make sure her customer was following.

Sonja Kerrigan hung back a little, feasting her eyes on the vision in front of her. Gaia, but she was gorgeous! Long black hair, flawless skin, and eyes of the most intense blue Sonja had ever seen – like the ocean, or the sky at twilight. She felt a familiar tightening in her stomach, reminding her of just how long she'd been spending her nights alone.

The object of her interest was selecting books from the shelf. "These are some of the books you're looking for; this one is eleven ninety-five, and this other one is fourteen even."

Sonja cleared her throat, reminding herself to stop staring. "Um, what would you recommend?"

The gorgeous clerk looked at the two books she was holding, her sapphire-blue eyes intent on the covers, then held up one of the two. "Well, this one is probably better for a general overview; the other one goes more into depth, but gets more technical. And it's fourteen dollars, as opposed to the more introductory text, which is twelve."

"I'll take this one," Sonja replied, indicating the less expensive one.

The other woman nodded, making her way back to the register. Within a few minutes, she had the book rung up and tucked in a paper bag printed with the name of the store. Sonja handed over a twenty, and as the clerk made change, she looked deep into the other woman's eyes. "Could I ask you a question?"

"Sure."

"When do you get off work?"

The other young woman looked startled for a minute. "Um, in about ten minutes."

Sonja took a deep breath. "Would you like to go somewhere for dinner? I know this great pizza place not too far from here."

The other girl smiled at her, and Sonja found herself lost in that dazzling glow. "I'd like that. And by the way – my name's Drusilla."

"Sonja Kerrigan," Sonja returned, sticking out her free hand. Drusilla shook it, and Sonja felt a warmth spread from that hand to settle somewhere between her legs. Firmly admonishing her heart – as well as some other parts of her anatomy – to be still, she tucked the book under her arm and went to the front of the store to retrieve her book bag while Drusilla closed up the shop.

Half an hour later, the two were sharing a pleasant conversation over two flavored iced teas and a large pizza. As she ate, Dru found herself admiring Sonja's raven-black hair and unusual amber eyes. Though not pretty in a conventional sense, she had a kind of vivacity that reminded Dru of Tamara, the satyr who had shown her the wonders of a relationship with another woman.

"So, you're from Buffalo?" Dru asked. "What made you decide to go to Georgetown?"

Sonja took a bite of pizza before answering. "A better psych program than anything back home. Well, that and nicer weather." She laughed. "At least you don't have to shovel rain." She took another sip of iced tea. "Your turn – what brings a girl from Atlanta all the way to Georgetown?"

Dru looked down at the table and toyed with her silverware. "I...didn't really get along with some people back home. It seemed easier to go away to school." Against her will, memories of her time at Willow's Heart, the palace of King Meilge ap Eiluned, bubbled up in her mind – the night her relationship with Tamara had been discovered, and the scandal that had followed the revelation of Dru's preferences. It had ended badly, with Dru sent to a boarding school in South Carolina, and she and Tamara forbidden to ever see one another again....

She felt someone squeeze her hand, and looked up to see Sonja looking at her with concern. "Hey – are you okay? I didn't mean to stir up any bad memories...."

Dru blinked back the traitorous tears that threatened to well up, and gave Sonja a shaky smile. "It's all right; I'm okay now."

Sonja didn't seem that convinced, but she was apparently willing to let the matter drop. She seemed a little more hesitant before asking her next question. "So...do you, um, have a boyfriend?"

Dru tried not to giggle at the thought. "No, I don't." Something niggled at the back of her mind, and she asked, "What about you?"

Sonja shook her head. "Nope." She looked down at the remains of her pizza before continuing. "The last person I went out with is looking for somebody to have a baby with right now."

By now, the sky outside had turned a rather threatening dark gray, and both women could hear the rumble of thunder in the distance.

"Whoa – sounds like one hell of a storm on the way," Sonja remarked, grabbing up her bag from where it sat on the floor. "Maybe we'd better pay for this and head back to campus?"

Dru nodded. "Good idea."

After paying for the meal, the two sprinted for the Metro stop, narrowly avoiding the rain that started to pour down just as they made it inside the station.

"Georgetown University," announced the conductor's voice. "Next stop, University of Virginia at Silver Woods."

Sonja and Drusilla got off the train and made their way up to ground level, only to be confronted with a raging downpour. Sonja let out a furious epithet, then looked to Drusilla. "Which dorm are you in? I'm in Darnall – if you want to come with me, we can probably get there without getting too wet."

"Actually, I'm in Darnall, too, so that works out," Drusilla returned. "But I don't know how I'm going to explain things to my roommates." **Branwyn would have a fit about me bringing a girl home, and Rowena would probably want to join in on the ‘fun.' Not what I need right now, thank you.**

Sonja gave Drusilla a small, shared grin. "My roomies are away for the weekend, so if you don't want to deal with your roommates, you could always come to my room."

"Actually, that works out," answered Drusilla, returning Sonja's grin. Despite the miserable weather, Sonja felt her spirits lift at the sight.

The two of them took off at a run for the dormitory; by the time they reached the entrance of Darnall Hall, they were thoroughly soaked. Drusilla followed Sonja up the stairs and down the fourth floor hall, until they stopped at one of the doors. Sonja fished inside her jeans pocket for the key, and fitted it into the lock. A moment later, she swung open the door. "Come on in."

The room was very much like Dru's – two bunk beds and a single bed against the opposite wall, three desks, and two large closets. A portable CD player sat on one of the desks, along with a number of CD cases.

Sonja stepped out of her sneakers and grabbed two towels off a rack on the closet. She handed one to Drusilla, keeping the other for herself. "Here – I've got some spare clothes if you want."

Nodding, Dru set about toweling off her hair. She grimaced under the towel, remembering that her hair always got so tangled when she did this, and she hadn't brought a comb with her.

Meanwhile, Sonja peeled off her sodden shirt and jeans, and tossed her wet clothes nonchalantly into a wicker laundry basket in one corner of the room. After a moment's consideration, she stripped off her damp bra and underpants, tossing them into the basket as well.

Dru finished toweling off her hair and looked up, to see a very naked Sonja rummaging through the drawer under the single bed. "I've got some T-shirts in here – hope you don't have anything against Anja Zed."

Dru swallowed hard as she attempted unsuccessfully to tear her eyes away from Sonja's firm posterior. As the other woman straightened up and turned around to offer her the promised T-shirt, she found herself gazing longingly at those firm breasts, that flat stomach, and those athletic legs. Her gaze rested on the triangle of curly black hair between them, and it was only with difficulty that she averted her gaze. A throbbing sensation started deep inside her own cleft, and she felt her nipples growing hard beneath her soaked shirt.

Sonja, noticing that Drusilla made no move to take the proffered shirt, set it gently on the bottom bunk and pulled a chair out from one of the desks, beckoning her companion to take a seat in it. "Your hair's tangled – would you like a comb?"

At Drusilla's soft, "Yes," Sonja collected a comb from a shower caddy on the top shelf of the closet and moved to stand behind Drusilla's chair, gently gathering the other woman's long fall of raven hair and arranging it over the chair back. She gently teased the tangles out of those shining tresses, marveling at the silky feel of the hair between her fingers. She felt a warm pulsing deep inside, and then a wetness between her thighs. Her heart started to race, and she bit her lip on a moan. **Oh, Goddess, she's so beautiful!**

She leaned a little closer to Drusilla, and found herself momentarily distracted by the sweet, almost flowery scent of the other woman's skin. "You really ought to change out of those wet things, you know." She moved back a little. "If you want, I'll keep my back turned."

Drusilla caught her hand, and drew Sonja's face down to hers. "No – that's all right." And with that, she pressed her lips to Sonja's. At first shocked, Sonja soon relaxed into the kiss, her tongue gently teasing open her companion's mouth to entwine with Drusilla's. Drusilla tasted sweet, but as the kiss went on, Sonja noticed a delightfully heady note to the flavor. As their lips parted, she gave a little moan that she didn't bother to stifle this time. She moved her hands to the fastening of Drusilla's jeans, her fingers lingering over them like someone trying to draw out the excitement of opening a gift. "Do you want me to undress you?" She caressed one of Drusilla's breasts as she asked the question, then gave the nipple a little tweak.

Drusilla gasped. "Oh! Oh, yes...." She stood up as Sonja proceeded to unfasten her jeans, then slide them down her long, shapely legs. Pausing to gently rub the spot between them, she noticed the dampness of Drusilla's silk underpants and felt her own ardor rise. She softly worked her fingers between the underpants and the silkiness of Drusilla's skin, and slowly, sensuously drew them down to reveal a perfect triangle of black hair. Kneeling, she nuzzled the now-bared mound, and felt her head being pressed against it by her companion's eager hands. Obligingly, she carefully spread the lips of Drusilla's mound and slid her tongue into the warm red cleft. Her tongue tenderly caressed every fold and ridge, then she found the hard little nodule near the top. She flicked the tip of her tongue lightly against it, and knew she'd pleased her partner when she heard a cry and tasted tangy juices. Drusilla whimpered, and Sonja felt her own insides tighten at the sound. "You like that, huh?" she asked playfully, caressing her partner's firm buttocks.

Dru's answer was an inarticulate moan of ecstasy. Her heart pounded as little tingles of excitement raced all through her slender limbs. There was a fullness in her abdomen as Sonja left off licking her to stand and help her draw her shirt over her head. She stepped out of jeans and underpants, then slowly unfastened her bra and let it drop to the floor. Smiling, she lowered her head to her partner's breast and took a nipple in her mouth. As she suckled, she slid a finger into the other woman's moist slit, traveling upward until she felt a swelling beneath her finger. As she pressed on it, Sonja gasped and cried out, her hands locking in Dru's long hair. "Oh–!"

Almost consumed by euphoria, Sonja felt her legs start to wobble. Gently easing her partner's head away from her breast, she managed to gasp out, "Bed?" Drusilla nodded, withdrawing her finger from within Sonja's cleft. As Sonja sank down onto the bed, she put the finger in her mouth and sucked deeply on it. "You taste sooo good!"

Her face flushed, Sonja grinned slyly at her. ""Want some more?" With that, she pulled her partner onto the bed as well, positioning herself so that her head was between Dru's thighs, with Dru's face between her own legs.

Dru needed no urging. As she felt Sonja's tongue caress her folds, she returned the favor. Both women felt themselves borne aloft on waves of ever-increasing ecstasy, until sweet release came and they lay within each other's arms, savoring their mutual warm, glowing lassitude.

Her rapturously fulfilled body nestled against Drusilla's, Sonja suddenly giggled.

"What?" her partner queried, gloriously exhausted.

Sonja grinned, and kissed Drusilla softly and sweetly on the mouth. "I never knew doing research could be so much fun."

"Me neither," Dru returned. "Maybe I ought to help you do it more often."
